i noticed on my bike today that the bolt beneath the travel adjuster on my RST Omega T6 shocks had come loose... i dont know how... i took it back to the shop after trying to fix it. i actually took it out completely before putting it back in an trying to tighten it, but when i tightened it the travel adjuster refused to budge. the guy at the bike shop said that the bolts dont just come loose, well it did and i want to know if this has happened with anyone else.
Also with these shocks i was wondering if it was normal that the lock out feature didnt always release to travel mode instantly once locked out. i find that sometimes i have to press the button and hold it down for few seconds before i can resume to travel mode. And one more thing... when the travel is set to maximum i found that when max force is pushed down on the forks, the travel adjuster moved 1-2 clicks, the guy at the shop reckons that they dont do that. the last 2 things never worried me but now he's trying to tell me i could have stuffed it more by not bringing the bike back in the first place, even though its been doin it since day one. please help, any info much appreciated...... |

RST=Your problem. They are buget forks and often the quality just isnt there. My advice, get a new set of forks. If your on a budget, Manitou Axel Super RTWD http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Manitou-Axel...bayphotohosting are probably your best bet. They have Travel, Rebound and Lockout adjust. Other options are Rock Shox Psylo (they are not made anymore, youll have to go second hand-just watch for blown seals and creaky crowns) A nice fork with Travel adjust...youl have to look a bit harder for the "SL" model that had Lockout as well. Both of these forks are resonably cheap and have Travel adjust and Lockout. If you wanna go upmarket, the new Rock Shox Revalations and Manitou Blacks are logical choices.
Good luck! |
