Default 2nd hand Cycling gear?

Does anyone know of somewhere that sells 2nd hand cycling gear? I've checked out ebay but was just wondering if there were any other sites to have a look at? Cheers

You'll need to be more specific about what sort of 2nd hand gear you are interested in. Usually is only track rings or older relic frame/components that ppl buy 2nd hand, for everything else it's waaaaay better to put up with the expense and buy brand new.

Where are you located? I can help with Melbourne options, but don't know for other states. Also, as jock.c pointed out, it is useful to know what you are after - gear as in equipment (parts, whole bikes?) or gear as in clothing?

Hey guys, cheers for the replies. Roshea, I'm primarily after clothing at this stage but along the way, perhaps things like pedals, trainers, etc. Any places around Melbourne would be great.

2nd hand clothing?!?? I don't think there's a single item of bike clothing that you should wear after someone else has!

You'd be better off rummaging through the bargain bin at your local bike shops or heading over to someone like http:www.torpedo7.com.au for their generic nicks, shirts, arm & leg warmers, etc. Excellent prices, no idea about the quality.

Thanks for the link Jock. Are you serious about not wearing second hand gear? I've bought a heap of stuff at the last two HS Tours. I give it a wash and go for it! Went for a ride wearing Matt White's jersey today! Am I the only one that does this? I don't really see the problem. I guess knicks, being that you don't wear jocks but i wear a pair of lycra shorts underneath, the type footballers wear.

I do, i buy second hand jerseys all the time, and mostly from usa... cos there are more variety than in aus. Aus just has the usual team jerseys and they are all soo common, till they look more generic than special.

Anyway, i get mine from ebay usa, and been collecting "vintage" jerseys..
