Check out reviews on mtbr.com, it depends which one you're talking about. My friend has an iron horse warrior Comp, and my sister has either a comp or a pro. Compared to my ride, a schwinn moab 3 (which I love and wouldn't trade for anything), both pack on a bit of extra weight. My friend is probably a little heavier than the average mountain biker, but he's had his chain replaced 3 times, and had problems with the cheapo disc brakes. Overall though, he's pretty satisfied. I liked the bike enough to reccomend it to my sister, who hasn't had any problems with hers so far (although I knew she wouldn't really be punishing it in any way but could get a very nice deal for the specs from performancebike).
All my local bike shops shudder at the name of Iron Horse in general, and suggest avoiding it, but they might be a bit biased. Check out mtbr.com reviews and give one a spin for yourself. |
