Hi, I didnt see this post until today but for future reference, try www.muggaccinos.com they are near you and hold regular long distance rides. Hope this helps!

A bit late. I know that Mikebytes here took a nice ride this morning down to the Royal National Park Sutherland and back. That would have been approx 100km return from where you are. Like quite a few other clubs, we ride every Sun down to Waterfall (entrance of RNP). Maybe you should either join a local club or ours.

Did he do that solo ? I haven't quite worked up the courage to take on those roads solo, I like having the bunch around.
Did you ride on Sunday ? I was out late on Saturday so I slept in and missed it.

You'll have to ask Mikebytes as to wether he managed to meet up with another club member who planned to get up early this morning. Yes, rode on Sunday down to Waterfall and back with the club bunch as well as bunches we crossed path with. Yesterday was quite pleasant apart from a short bout of rain around Sutherland on the way back. Unless the weather is bad, the ride is on every Sunday leaving at 6:30.

The club site is currently being rejuvenated.

I agree with you, I was not comfortable to go on that ride all by myself. Now that I know the route and what to expect after quite a few rides with the club bunch, going on that ride solo and meet up with other riders along the way would not be out of the question. The low traffic volume at that time of the day makes the ride reasonably safe.

Agree that riding solo is different to bunch riding. I was out very early this morning and knew the roads would be empty, otherwise I would of modified the route.

We both rode on Sunday, there were plenty of riders from the various riding.

Yeah I was planning on coming out then, but I played up at the Peats Ridge festival on Saturday night and didn't get home until 2am. By the time 5:30 rolled around I was just too damn tired and went back to sleep
