I raced back in high school (10 years ago) then got out when responsiblities hit. I'm getting back in and want to do some racing. I have a stage race (Cat 5): 28 mile RR, 3m TT, and 20min+ Crit, circled on my calendar. I'm nervous, but figure I should start somewhere. Is this a good idea?

More information would help.
If you gained 300 lbs, smoke 3 packs a day, and the race is tomorrow, it's probably not a good idea. Realistically there aren't any problems. It's a Cat 5 race, you're not a pro, and as long as you don't crash heavily the most harm you can do is bruise your ego. cdr |

Absolutely not! What are you thinking? What would possibly compel a grown man to race a bicycle? You could get a flat, or get dropped, or get tired, or fall down and get a boo-boo. Now, put...the...bike...down. And go back to the security of your keyboard and mouse and monitor and message boards. Bob |
