Default Psychology of Performance

Hello!

I am a fellow cyclist and a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, CA. I am writing to request your participation in my dissertation research. For my dissertation, I am investigating certain psychological, personality and training factors that may be associated with athletic performance and am also evaluating a recently developed self-efficacy questionnaire.

Athletes who are 18 years or older and English-speaking are invited to participate in this portion of the study. Participation entails completing a questionnaire twice (once at this time and then again in 2 weeks). Participants will be prompted via email to complete the questionnaire at 2 weeks time from their original submission. The questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete. If you’d like to participate, please proceed to the website listed below. You will find further directions and information at this site.

Please consider taking the time to participate, and to invite the participation of others. By doing so, you will be contributing to furthering the scientific exploration of performance variables potentially involved in your sport. Additionally, individuals participating in this study will be provided with a summary of my findings prior to their publication in public sport forums, such as online or hardcopy magazines. You will have the option of providing me with your email address via the website as a means to request this service.

Your participation in this study will be greatly appreciated. Once at the site, you will be provided with additional information and an opportunity to review informed consent text.

Please visit
http://www.perfactors.net/athletes and read the information provided. Then, enter the site password “1234” and complete the questionnaire.

Thank you so much!
