Default Ergomo Speed Sensor Failure

I have just had my Ergomo moved from one bike to another, and now the speed sensor is not working. I can hear the relay clicking as the wheel magnet comes past, but I see no speed reading. Also, nothing registers in the service->speed sensor test on the cpu.

Does this mean I need to get a replacement BB? Since there does not appear to be any way to remove the wiring harness from the BB.

I also encountered this problem twice with my ergomo. During a ride, speed was zero for half an hour, than it read correctly again. The other time speed was well out of range, showing between 15 and 80 km/h, while I was rolling at 30 km/h. Both time, this problem disappeared as fast as it came an this was two times out of ca. 120. So start your next ride and hope the best.

Hi Bruce,

it appears that they did damage the cable when they changed to the other bike. Best thing is, if you are in the US call Gita Hotline and they will help you getting it fixed. If youre in Europe, go on the ergomo webpage and look for the importing company in your country.

Cheers,

The work was done by the Ergomo Agent here in South Africa. Unfortunately I have national champs coming up soon and can't afford to be without the bike while they check it out - will get it sorted out once nationals is over.
