i'm driving back from the tour of the Gila and I was thinking that My TSS for each stage is going to be quite a bit off.
I was able to determine that my FTP @ Gila was around 305, which was generall between 6-7k feet above sea level. I live right at sea level, and there my FTP is 325-330. my question is, can i manually change what CPs thinks my FTP is only for specific files? I know my TSS is off, and consequently my CTL, TSB etc... I know there is a TSS override (which i haven't used yet). Even with that feature I wouldn't know what number to use...( maybe the % difference between different FTPs?) thanks btw, a 16 y/o kicked our butts this weekend! |

From what I've read over the years, I think you can expect a 15% decrease in performace at altitude..if you train/live at sea level. I'm curious to hear if that's what your results are. I'll be riding in Colorado in July at 7500 to 11500 ft and was wondering the same.

Ride TSS equals IF^2 times the ride duration in hours. Calculate the modified ride IF using the Gila FTP and then you can override the TSS values using the altitude-modified TSS for the ride. |

Just re-calculate your FT and zones for the period where the race files will be in WKO. Change it back for the files when you return. Wouldn't this update TSS automatically? |

Yeah, I image it would work to just drop FTP for that week/weekend and then put it back up for the next week. Good idea. ![]() |

Useful info:
http://www.midweekclub.ca/powerFAQ.htm#Q17 Don't take the regression too seriously, though -- if you do, you might be tempted to pop up to 11km. Dan |

you can only change your FTP setting on the athlete home page, correct? doesnt' it recalculate all of the charts, irregardless of when you put the number in? |

When you enter a new FTP number, you also enter a starting date when that FTP takes effect. So, you could change your FTP down to 305w beginning the day you left for Gila, and then change it again to 325w beginning the day you got home. When WKO+ calculates all the charts, it uses the FTP that is in effect for the day of each workout, so the higher elevation FTP would only affect the workouts you did while at Gila. |

At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, Connie Carpenter won the inaugural women's road race - a very young Rebecca Twigg was second. |

Taylor was a bit disappointed, but of course he's going to win a lot more races than he already has. Certainly no shame in this particular 16yo kicking your collective butts. |

Any idea why they didn't have fractional seconds for the TT, or did they just choose not to use it? |
