Default Chris Hoy WR attempt

From www.fixedgearfever.com ...

Disappointment at first attempt with a 59.103 with Chris 1 second up with one lap to go and 0.7 up with half a lap to go and then died in the last half lap.

Weather was far from ideal with wind picking up and several delays. Chris is already fully recovered and they want him to go again and feel confident he can do it - probably tomorrow. David says remember that Tournant did not get it first time around.

Let's hope the weather holds and we all wish chris well for his second attempt - he can do it!

Today he did a 58.880, only .005 off Arnaud's record. He passed out for about 10 minutes afterwards.

In the afternoon he broke the 500m record with a 24.758. According to one online publication using David Hoy (his father) as a source, he won't be attempting for the 3rd time at the Kilo.

to think for the sake of 9/1000's of a second chris hoy would have another rainbow jersey and a world record. i really feel sorry for him but it was an awesome effort to try twice and then smash the 500 record.

Think Tournet will hold this one for quite some time. Shows what a loss the Kilo is. No other event for those with more speed than a pursuiter but just not quite a Sprint or Keirin rider.

Travesty losing the KILO
