Have had a problem with the Rock Shox Tora fork and am interested in hearing if other folks are having similar problems.
The Rock Shox Tora plastic adjuster appears to be prone to cracking. It costs me 20 bucks to to get the little plastic adjuster replaced. I am not an aggressive biker so I was very surprised when this piece cracked in the first place. Some bike shops have told me they have had a number of bikes with Rock Shox Tora forks come in with this problem. Am I stuck with a lemon? |

Hi amiskwi
I have exactly the same fork and exactly the same problem. I ended up enquiring about, and ultimately buying, an alloy replacement. It cost me AUD$40 but is well worth the price. The part which you use to turn the adjuster flips up when in use or lies flat otherwise. It definitely works so much better. I also replaced the rebound knob under the right fork leg. This too is alloy instead of plastic. The original one dropped off somewhere. That was also AUD$40 and came in an anodised red finish. Looks pretty trick and goes well with my black bike with red decals. Ask at your lbs. Otherwise let me know and i'll get the details for you for where I purchased them. It was online. Otherwise, I really like the fork. I really like the travel adjust on mine (85-130mm). |

Would be very interested in getting the details from you. The LBS appears to be all too happy to take 20 bucks from me each time the little plastic piece breaks.
Really appreciate the information you are sharing with me. |

Where are you located? I don't know if they do orders outside of Australia. Anyway, the site is http://www.moruyabicycles.com.au/.
Speak to or email Mark (the owner). Really helpful guy. BTW, the parts are not listed in their site; I emailed him asking whether he knew of such parts and he came back to me with the alternatives. Good luck. |

Another thing, you could probably approach your lbs and ask whether they know of a part that would fit. I wouldn't be surprised if the parts I bought were from another model in the Rock Shox range. I didn't ask though so couldn't say from which model. Fits perfectly though and works without problems.

Thanks. Just looking at their site. Will contact Mark. Got to get this GT Avalanche Expert Rock Shox fork fixed up so I don't have an ongoing problem.
It will be a real breath of fresh air to finally be able to talk to someone about a workaround. I hang my hat around the Sydney area but go down south from time to time. |

Mark can order the item for you. You can then just make a deposit to their account and he'll post it. The $40 included postage.
Never had problems with Moruya Bicycles; delivery is fast and where the item needs to be ordered Mark will keep you up to date. Coinceidentally my Rock Shox is connected to a GT Avalanche as well. You must have a heavy hand like me. A mate of mine with the same setup hasn't snapped his adjuster....yet. |

sounds like they came off a Revelation. My Revs have red anodised rebound adjuster and the travel adjust has an alloy bit that flips up that you turn. |
