Default week trip recommendations for midwest

Trolling for ideas for a scenic week long bike trip in and around the midwest. Girlfriend says no camping, so motels and hostels. Guess which one will be hauling most of the gear? Trip is slated for July to take advantage of every degree of global warming. Curves and hills a plus with any road surface just this side of full mountain bike. Thanks in advance for any help or leads.

The largest funnest bike ride in the world is the last week of July called RAGBRAI (Register's Great Annual Bike Ride Accross Iowa). Last yr over 20,000 riders were counted one day. It is a recreational ride - there is a town every 8-15 mi and everyone stops and joins the fesivities. Checkout ragbrai.com
