Do you think this will help my fitnes/riding?
I ride mostly solo and when i do, i look ahead and see who is way up ahead of me! I make it a goal of mine to catch them up. Some times it might take 5-10 minutes to catchup, once i catch them i give it all ive got for 30 seconds or so and put in a bit of a gap. I think this is a fun way of riding especially when riding by myself as it gives me something to do. Its always fun when someone trys to catch back up! |

Catching people on a hill climb is good motivation and even more fun. Less fun when some club cyclist then zooms past everyone!

mowing down poor old 'weekenders' on Beach Rd on a sunny Sat is like ploughing through dandelions with a 4000hp sti-on mower.
It's especially fun when it's a group of half a dozen who think they're working fast turns yeah, I a wanker, but who cares? ![]() |

Its so much more fun to just hang back from the guy a couple of metres and pressure him to cycle faster!

![]() There's a guy who Jono knows who used to chat on his mobile and pretend he wasn't working hard while we were doing 50kph!! I've seen a few guys do that -- I reckon they're just pretending to chat |

Those commuting races are absolutely vicious.
I had just started my ride to work pulling out of my driveway when a chubby fellow rode past me and had a big smirk on his face. It seemed he was going quite hard as there was a third cyclist that he overtook. I attacked on a hill and wiped that smirk off his face ![]()

What was he riding? I bet it was a Trek Madone with the full kit. That's gotta win him the wanker trophy of the year! |

Your're on! Although I better make up that head start you have. Did I mention the look on the chubby guy's face as well? It was well worth it.

Ok you can have five more posts - after that, we race. The look on a chubby guy's face is always worth it, no matter what he's doing - but when we're wiping the smile of it - that's sweeeeet. Where are you in NZ anyway. It's a lovely place. Oh yeah, sorry about that mully grubber from that lowly Chappel brother back in the eighties. I'm still embarrassed. Aussie cricket hasn't been tha same since. |
