Default bikes for women

Hi

I am buying my first road bike, up until now have been using my brothers road bike, a nice cheap start but a little big. I am up around the 60 to 70km mark and I have been looking around and have discovered that they make bikes for women, i know a little slow, I am looking around the 2000 mark but have myself in a bit of a fuddle as to what brand is best. Specialized seem good, but cannot find much infomation on the scott road bikes, are they any good ?
What else is around that is good for the weekend rider ?

thanks minty

I ride a specialized ALLEZ triple, and love the bike. fairly light (for the money) and its fast when i put the effort in. If you have a bike shop near you that carries Specialized have them fit you to a ruby or dolce, I personally think you will enjoy either.

Trek would also be worth looking at, I bought my girlfriend a Trek 7100 WSD hybrid/comfort bike and she LOVES it. she isnt much for speed she just likes being on a bicycle (couldnt have picked a better girl).

both companies have lifetime frame warranties as well...just a thought!

good luck and welcome to the forum!
