Default Armstrong moderated Presidential campaign forum

Recently I attended a LAF/Lance Armstrong forum that showcased several of the Democratic Presidential canidates, primarily Hilary and Edwards. LA moderated the debate which brings cancer into the campaign as a issue. This was a forum that was nationally televised. The debate seemed to be centered around Hilary and her *attempt at national health care during Bill's terms. And the use of "powerful interest groups" was a hot topic too......
Even though LA and John Edwards shared the road on a bike ride here last month, he was keeping his distance from getting involved in a single canidates campaign. He is also a friend of Bill Clintons as they both hang out together occasionally. Together they toured the 9/11 site shortly after the event took place.

It just seems that LA has taken himself beyond pro cycling. His committment to cancer fundraising and such makes him a humanitarian rarely seen in other cyclists. What a refreshing change seeing a world class cyclist that is making the news for something else other the being involved with Fuentes lab in Spain.

* It can be argued this was the reason for the demise of the 28 year Democratic rule of the House.

It's a shame Kuchinich won't be the Democratic candidate. Aside from his policy, he's got a hot wife.

This was not about dope nor the sport of riding a child's toy over a few hills in France some people that have never seen the Rockies consider mountains. { But he did it so much better then anyone in over 100 years]
This was about something that affects nearly everyone in a devastating way. This is real life. This was about an individual who is trying to bring about a change in a way that will make the world a far better place.
He was not addressing McSquid nor Pounded Dick, but a canidate that stands a chance to be the most powerful person in the world in the near future. A person that can make a difference.
They came to discuss the issue with him.
Only a person who has hate in his heart and no love for humanity would want to make the LAF Democratic forum about dope. The world should have pity on a man that would want that.

Yes, a few years ago I attended one of Dennis K's "picnic fundraisers" that had Willy Nelson as a guest to do a few sets of songs......Yes , she is hot.
However...... There is a small rumour that the ex-gov from my state ,T. Vilsack will possibly throw his hat in as a future vice prez running mate if Hilary gets the nomination. On the outside chance that developes, check out Vilsack's daughter and his wife. Especially his daughter........ I would vote for them just to see her again .........
I got to see both of them in cycling shorts about 4 years ago. Made the lycra look good.

His wife is far too old for me to have any opinion on her look and I'm aware he has two sons. Too much orange juice is bad for you.

It's too bad he's hanging out with democrats. The last thing we need in America is Nationalized Health Care/ and or a guy like Edwards. As for Lance I'm glad he is into his Cancer fund raising, but there are bigger issues in US and the world at large. Fund raising has become a career for many people who loose focus on what they were trying to do initially. Look at the cancer runs, walks, rides etc and see how much money actually goes to research and or to help those with CA, minimal. For some reason a lot of people in this world think the way to fix a problem is to throw money at it. Wrong. We've been doing that for the past 50 years with Education and it isn't working.

The hot one may have been his daughter in law. She was a redhead and was at several events over the years sitting with the family. Unless one of his sons is ........ well .......... you know......... Then forget looking at them............

The next day he did the same with the Republican canidates........ It is a shame that more of the contributions do not get to the research centers. However, it takes a lot of money to run those research centers.
And your point on throwing money at a problem is an entire 1000 post a day thread. Throwing money at a problem never solved a problem yet.

I agree. Lance is nuts to drag politicians into this. Can't you just imagine every single pandering presidential candidate trying to outdo each other on who is the most "against" cancer?

How long until ambulance-chasing John Edwards declares that "if you elect me, there WILL be a cure for cancer.."

Or how long before some sap declares a "War on Cancer" like the War on Poverty or the War on Drugs. It would be about as successful...

Right now it might be Richardson....... howver if Richardson does not play well in Iowa , he will have a long road....... The rumour of Vilsack is just that. However, there has always been a strong connection between the Clintons and Vilsack. His statement last spring was

Quote:
"At this critical time, Hillary Clinton has the experience, strength and vision our country needs to get us back on track and moving in the right direction ...there is no candidate who will create a stronger and better America than Hillary Clinton." "
