New to Racing!
Hey,
I have become intrested in road cycling and racing, i do not own a road bike at the moment but would like to know if their were any racing clubs or day events in the Surrey area, better would be close to Guildford that i could go along to. Just o see what the atmosphereis is like and is i would be intrested. Many Thanks Matt |

Luckly you live in Surrey - Home of the Surry League, the UK's most successful racing league. http://www.surreyleague.co.uk/. They put on events weekends and evenings which are really well supported and cater for all abilities - they're a great place to start.
The other option is to look at www.britishcycling.org.uk and search under clubs in your area. Clubs vary a lot there are those with lots of active menbers who race, train and ride for pleasure, there are those which are almost nonexistant - just kept going by a few die hards and then there are those that are sponsored up to the ears and riding at an elite level. What ever you want there should be something for you. But BC is a good starting point. If you see a club indicated as a Go-Ride club that means they run sessions aimed at getting kids/youngsters out riding their bikes, these clubs will have accredited coaches (not that some other clubs don't) and will be able to offer advice.
