I usually just wear bike shorts, but I picked up a pair of black spandex Nike pants/shorts without a pad insert at Sports Authority for only $17.00 the other day that work great. I avoid standard shorts as insects can fly up into your yoo-hoo while riding ![]() |

I tried I pair of regular bike shorts and like them.I was waring big leg shorts that I found did not work with you feet in front of you.I was reluctant to ware them as I am 62.But now decided better than having the out side of you shorts up to where your pockets are going through town.Plus I think it helped my speed. Yep also don`t want bugs up my shorts as I go past a place called Bottoms Up Thanks Wink |

I use lycra running shorts, with Coolmax underwear, partly for modesty and partly for wicking sweat. You can use regular padded bike shorts, but the pad acts as a sponge to retain sweat. If you use padded shorts, thinner padding is better. You can use 'street'style shorts, but make sure they don't have seams in the wrong places, and also make sure you can close the legs so they don't act as bee scoops.

Blazing Pedals I can see where you would need modesty on the bike you ride. Wink |

I go for the 'homeless but still proud' or 'lowlife' look of sweatpants. bk
