Hello All,
I entered and competed in my first road race on Columbus Day in Jamestown RI. I entered a Cat. 5 race 19.1 miles. The winning time was roughly 49 minutes. I crossed the finish line in about an hour. I want to improve for next season and hopefully enter into a few more road races. My bike is a 2007 Cannondale Synapse Sport its a peformance road bike. This winter I am thinking about buying a Cannondale Six13 3 compact a more elite racing bikes. Anyone have any other suggestions. I am about 6'0" and weight approximately 205 with about 10 percent body fat. This winter I am looking to drop about 20 lbs down to 185 through cycling. Any training advice for the upcoming winter will be great too. The only training I did for my first road race was about 100-125 miles a week. No workouts. Also any workout advise would be great. Thanks Chris |
