Default Acapulco cycling

I will be vacationing in Acapulco in November. I'm staying in a
resort at the south end of the city (Diamond Beach, I think). Would
it be reasonable to bring a mountain bike to use on the road for about
40km a day for exercise purposes?. All I need is one route that is
relatively low traffic -- I'm happy to ride the same route all week.
Hills are not a problem. I have cycled in Mexico before -- two weeks
touring in the Yucatan in '87, and a week doing day rides at the tip
of the Baja in the '90s. TIA for advice.
