Default My first race in 10 yrs

Today, Nov 3, was my first race with a masters team. It was also my first
race in 10 years.

I swam 2 events.

1) 50m Free, this is the only event I have raced, which was 10 years ago.
The last time I did it my time was about 45 seconds. Today, I had a time of
43:50 Seconds. I am happy with the fact that I did better than before. As
long as my next meet, i get faster, I am happy.

2) 100m IM. I have never raced it before. I have never raced Fly before. My
time was 2:02:32. I am happy that I finished.

I will be posting both events on my facebook page. I am the only Micheal
Artindale there.

If you take a look, let me know what you think.

Micheal

Nice job, Micheal. You entered, you showed up, you didn't get DQ'ed on
anything - that's all good, and it puts you ahead of most people who
don't take the time to show up and compete.

Thanks, The only thing that I cared about with this race was that I finished
and not get DQed. I never want to see a DNF or a DQ beside my name for any
event.

I am looking forward to the next one.

No one wants to be disqualified, but if you do enough it will happen
eventually, as none of us is perfect - even the judges! Don't let it worry
you too much, just keep coming back. There is never any disgrace in failure
or defeat - only in not trying.

A lot of people don't join a masters team to compete. Why are they to be
considered behind?

Are you then also saying that people who join masters teams for fitness
and fellowship are a disgrace to swimming?
