Anyone have any good guidelines about resuming after a bout of illness. I got whacked with some seasonal thing on top of a lot of travel. Good bit of sickness that kept me off the bike for about 12 days.
So...coming back. I tried to pick up where I left off but felt terrible. High HRs and low Watts. Do you do a certain number of days at some lower intensity (L2) as stated by Friel, or do you use some weekly/daily TSS indicator. How long before getting back to L4? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I hate to think that I went all the way backward to the starting point. |

No fun way about it, you've just got to build back into it abit. Shouldnt take too long however. Go real easy the first couple day, then when your legs are used to moving again, you should be able to push back up easily enough

Martin, Thanks. Its gotten more complicated as I've now extended my downtime and added a serious round of antibiotics. I feel like a dishrag. I don't want to L1 and L2 around for the rest of the year trying to get going, but I suspect that SST or L4 after only a few days will be quite difficult. Should I be looking for a benchmark TSB or TSS to guide the process? |
