Default b2b ride - Boston to Vermont

Harpoon Brewery is sponsoring a neat ride - 136 miles - in June 2008. Check it out:

This looks awesome!

I'm from VT and am currently stationed overseas in Korea. Hopefully I'll be able to get some leave and go home for this ride.

Too much fun (although VT is hilly, not sure about this route, though, but it would be quite a ride!)!

Thanks for posting it,
Buck

Karl, I'm not sure I could do the ride or not. I've done some hilly 100 mile rides, but not under a mph and time requirement and deadline. The 16 mph thing makes me doubt my ability to complete the ride. I'm really thinking about it though. Feel free to stay in touch if you want; maybe we could ride together. Hey, did you see the "profile" of the ride on the website?

Take care.

I agree. When I looked at the website I realized that you had to commit to a certain "time" average. Not sure where I'll be in June as for my riding average.

I did look at the route profile and it looks like it has a big climb around the 50 mile point and a lot of smaller rolling hills.

My biggest concern is that I will not be home in June.

I am stuck in Korea in the Army until next late Summer/Fall and am not sure I can make it back for the ride.

I'll have to check into it more.

Would love to do it though and will keep you posted as it would be fun to ride it together as I do not know anyone who is doing it.

Thanks again, Buck (Karl Hungus is a "joke" name that I use as a sign in on forums. It's from the movie, "The Big Lebowski")

Note: Harpoon just released that registration opens on this ride January 15; first come first served. Here's a link: http://www.harpoonbrewery.com/index.cfm?pid=28553
