You're in Norway, right? I have been searching around for a place to go on
vacation next year. I have been to Norway and done all the touristy things,
but now I am talking about a backpacking trip or a bicycling trip. When I
mention it to my cyclist friends, they say, "But, don't you know Norway has
mountains?" I always reply, "I don't think their roads go straight up over
the mountains."

So, that's what I want to ask you...do you think a cycling trip would be
advisable? I can mainly fly in April, May, September, October. Which month
would be preferable? Could I do it using a tent? Are there little towns with
hotels? Just hit me with your advice, please. If this is a dumb idea, I'll
switch it to Tuscany (although I HAVE been wondering about Croatia. )

It's an excellent idea. Cycling is big in Norway.

You better be rich. Norway is an expensive country to go to for us
Europeans. Take a good look at the exchange rate between USD and NOK and
check the Big Mac Index b4 deciding.

It is expensive at the current exchange rate, but on the other hand, you
don't go to Norway to eat Big Macs. You can stay for free or very
cheaply at mountain cabins along the trails in Norway. So a bicycle trip
need not cost a lot. Staying in hotels is expensive. And drinking is
expensive, but fitness swimmers/riders probably don't drink that much
anyway.

Good thinking. Your trip will be a succes and from to looks of it, you're
prepared.
