Whitley inducted into Ferrum hall; GWU's Williams named top freshman (The Shelby Star)
Roger Whitley of Shelby was recently inducted into the Ferrum Junior College (Va.) Sports Hall of Fame. Whitley was a fullback, punter and defensive end for Ferrum from 1960-61 and was a National Junior College All-American both years. He went on to be a football standout at Mars Hill College.
