Default Avanti Discovery - Any Good?

Hi Guys,

I see there is a little bit of talk of the Avanti Discovery around here but nothing to specific.

I went to JT Cycles today and had a REALLY helpful guy serving me and we sort of settled on the Avanti Discovery. I didn't commit to it today as I wanted to do a bit of research online first.

Everything about it fits me well. I primarily want a bike for commuting but have the desire to do a bit of touring over in NZ next year. I seems as through the Discovery, with some light modifications, could hold a front pannier which is neccessary - I read a few stories on CrazyGuyOnBike.com of some people doing pretty long tours with this bike with great success.

I'd just like to know if there are any opinions out there on this bike?
