It would be a great help. You'll feel more comfortable while on the road. Go for it.

What is the problem with real cycling shorts? They are very comfortable. If you do not like people to stare at your lycra-clad behind, then wear shorts over them.

Just for the record, I am very proud of my lycra-clad behind...

if you must know my ass gets sore after 120 odd kms,so i thought a little extra padding might help in stead or wearing 2 sets of nixs.

Good to know your rear end gets sore after 120 km. Mine does too.

I still don't understand why you cannot invest in a good, high quality pair of cycling shorts.

Jed, I have them and use them for casual riding under regular shorts and they work really well. Maybe you could try a softer saddle for those rides, I have heard really good reviews on the Fizik Rave CP for long distance butt protection.

Good Luck.
