Default CS 600 Power Cadence Problem

Hi. I just received my CS600 with power and installed on my full suspension bike, Trek Fuel 80.
I only get POwer and Cadence readings when I am riding hard up a hill and only for a few seconds.
I have written to Polar but so far no feedback. Now I am worried as on the Polar USA site I read that the Power unit works only on a rad bike riding on tarmac and does not work on mountain bikes .

Does anybody out there manage to get good power and cadence readings when riding on a full suspension bike?

Could the problem be related to interference due to riding with a mobile phone switched on?

pretty sure it's not a phone issue but most likely due to the activation of your suspension and the travel of the chain sensor from the chain.
