It's been pretty unstable for a while now and people have been getting killed. Matt |

Eesh. -10 felt like the coldest possible, subtracting 30 more (consider the diff between 80 and 50) is...is too much for me to get my head around. That's stay- at-home, develop-a-hardcore-chemical-addiction, wait-until-the- stircrazy-tells-you-to-kill kind of cold. The only logical thing to do is run outside yelling "I understand! I get it!", strip off all of your clothing, and wait until you feel warm. /s |

When you walk outside, the snot freezes in your nose instantly. Strange sensation. I know some people who have wintered over at the South Pole. They have a thing called the "300 degree club ". You'll like this: you have to sit in a 200F sauna, then jump out into -100F cold, and run around the South Pole, naked. 300 degree temperature difference. I heard a story about one guy who started his run and promptly got lost because of all the steam coming off his body. They found him before he died, but from then on, everybody called him "Scott". Here are some photos of a 300-degree club run: http://astro.uchicago.edu/home/web/...ub/300club.html Crazy shit. CC |

As in war, confusion seemed to prevail over most of us." Goldang! I suddenly feel like slightly less of a hero for jumping from 50 degree outside temp into 42 degree water. In fact, I feel like a darned sissy. But let me tell you, that shiz was coooold. 300 degrees is... uh... only thing I can think of is science experiments with liquid nitrogen. /s |

I think I've done 125 degree swings (105 hot tub to -20 and back) and that's pretty shocking. But it's not even half of their range! Matt |
