Default Australian Solo 24Hr Champs - Easter - Majura

Australian Solo 24Hr Champs - Easter - Majura

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They're on again at Easter (its just that Easter keeps moving).

So, 22/23 March this year, run by CORC from Innabaanya Guide Camp off Majura Road in Canberra. Camping is available plus hot showers, fitted toilets, town water etc.

More details and online entries will be up soon. Go to the CORC Website (www.corc.asn.au) and click on the Solo 24Hr banner.

This is the race with the Aussie Jerseys up for grabs, plus big $$ ($2000 cash for the open winner plus a return airfare to Canada for the World Champs this July).

New for this year. There will be open 6+6 hour male/female race categories for all us over 18 riders who can't hack 24 hours, don't have all the lights we need, just want to hang around and chat at night or get out and support the 24 hour solos. The 6+6 format has been run at previous races, but only for under 18 riders so they can meet the MTBA endurance riding rules. But, this year, anyone can have a go. The U18 category is still there as well.

The rules are simple. Start with all the riders, stop at the end of your first lap that finishes after 6 hours of ride time. Start the next morning in a staggered start 12 hours later. So, if you finished at 18:24:15 on Saturday night, you would be released by the starter at 06:24:15 on Sunday morning to begin your next 6 hours, finishing with the main solo 24 field, 24 hours after race start
