Default New chain?

Hiya,

I have a specialized Sirrus, which has, by my own admission, not had much in the way of TLC.

She gets cycled daily on my commutes to work and also weekend rides of up to 40-50 miles, and is just over a year old.

Trouble is, my chain is rubbing against the front derailler .. have adjusted the high/low screws and at the maximum high, chain still rubs, when on the top chain ring (triple), and highest rear gear. If I select a lower rear gear, rubbing stops. I should say that the gear selection works as easily goes to the selected chain ring.

So do I?
Need to adjust the cable length for the front derailer?
Get a new chain?
Something else?

Cheers ... as you may have gathered, I'm not very experienced with bike mechanics, but for once, really want to sort this one myself!

shimano systems, particularly triples, can have finicky FDers. What you need is a FD adjust. Adjusted properly, you should have no rub in big ring and smallest cog, not small ring and biggest cog and there is trim for the middle ring.
