So the UCI is suing Dick Pound for accusing them of ignoring the doping program. Yeah, this one sounds like a winner.

“On many occasions Mr Pound has publicly questioned the extent of the UCI’s efforts in the fight against doping” - if the UCI had a pound/dollar/euro for every time anyone had ever accused them of that, they wouldn't need to sue WADA. |

Actually Verbruggen is driving this. According to Anne Gripper he and Pound have been enemies for twenty years.

This is just a showcase legal action. How can you prove either way such a subjective statement as what Pound made. Let alone the fact that suing Pound is about as sensible as suing the President of the United States. Pound has more money backing him in his coin jar on his dresser than the UCI have. Let alone that they rely on the IOC for their existence. If they are so worried about their image... instead of using an Armstrong technique of shock and awe which is dumb when you are the weaker party... why not sponsor an independent investigation into their handling of doping and testing in the past? No chance.
