i bought a bike about 2 months ago due to losing my license. i got in a little trouble with the law but thats another story. well i got a great deal on a 97 trek 5000 it works great and i use it evryday but it dosent really fir me as well as i would like and i can tell its a little dated in structure. ive been researching and have decided on a tarmac elite. i was wondering who has used this bike and what is there opinion. i plan on starting to racein th next 2 months since my friends arent really a challenge anymore. is this the bike for me. or is there something along the same price range tha would be better. thanks.

Why not consider approaching a local cycling club before plunking down the cash... that way you can have local riders who are more experienced than you give you some advice on what might suit the area you ride in.
