Default questions about specialized tri-spoke wheels

i'm in looking to purchase this set of wheels for try out. and have few questions as i'm new to carbon TT wheels.
when buying an used pair, what should i definitely look for to ensure it's in good and ridable conditions? i know to check if there is loose bearing play, cracks/dents on the carbon fiber and if the wheel is true (will these even go untrue??). but is there anything else i should note for?
and if these wheels can be be ridden casually on normal streets (not in tracks only)? will they break or wear faster than normal spoked wheels?

Why would anyone ride a carbon fiber tri-spoke 'casually' on the road?

I must be getting old and not understanding all you young guys out there...

Check the side walls for wear. If they look too thrashed then you may not get much more life for what you are spending.

I saw a pair of tri spokes in the LBS recently and I could not believe they were still being ridden, apparently the owner was "a big guy" and hard on brakes.
