Hi - can anyone outline how easy it is to trasnfer (on bike) from the
K&A towpath (having come in from the Bradford ON Avon direction) to the Bath-Bristol railway path aka cycleway? Googlemaps suggests that the K&A towpath becomes a towpath alongside the Avopn river which then ends up somewhere near Brassmill lane (road) where the cyclepath starts... is anyone able to confirm/deny this? Or provide an alternative connection that preferably avoids traffic filled roads? cheers didds |

There's currently a chunk of the best route - along the Avon towpath - that is out of action. |

There is a very short on road section (100m or so). However the towpath can get flooded in wet weather, and if it has recently flooded can be muddy, so you should plan to be able to use the road. I was looking at this the other day, and Sustrans have a map of the route available online. (NCN 4 I think). > When are you going to be doing it? I .live in Devzies so was hoping to cycle the K&A towpath to Bath, then the Bristol-bath railway path/ cycleway to Fishpoinds, then down blackberry hill and up through Frenchay park to the A4174 and the MOD roundabout (where nearby I work). The map provioded above shows that its not difficult to get from the K&A to the BBRP, and the avon towpath isn;t necessary probably... Does that help? cheers didds |
