Default cateye stadium light battery

Hello fellow Cateye Stadium users, my battery pack has now given up and time for a rebuild.Has anyone who owns one out there had to do the same?If so did you use same nimh batteries or increase size of pack and not use internal charging system and use a new charger.
Any recommendations from people who have had similar issues with these lights would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
