Yep. Approx 18 months and 12,000km later i give it the 'House of Dutchie' Nod
It aint sexy (but_it_is_black )It's a 'Gheee-Aunt' (litle known rare pedigree italian bike. Not) But, it's just so damn practical. I think this bike represents when 'utility' biking (at least in Melb?) 'Jumped the shark'. Finally an off the rack REAL commuter. I added racks/panniers/guards (note the 08 model offers these as an option!) and dynamo hub/light combo, cut down bar width and SHAZAAM! The Poifect commuta!!! I believe the current models have the Alfine Hub (even better than my Nexus red-stripe model). Personally i would love this bike to have disk brakes, at least at the 'business-end' (front). My rims are starting to go concave marginally, which reminds me. a 24 spoke rear wheel is not a good commuter make. especially for us 'typical_ozzie_blokes' who are 80+kg. |
