Question how much for a 2nd hand bike?

How much might I have to pay for a road racing bike thats big enough to ride a 6ft guy (skinny hehe) and have the features of gear levers under the brakes? Thin tyres, can I do this under £100??? I know you get what you pay for, but I am not exactly after the farrai of bikes. do any of you know where I might be able to buy such a bike?

Doubt you could get much decent for under 100 quid.

Cycling for those who race, do triathlon, or ride long distances socially is an expensive entry sport.

In Australia, the base model road bike is around $1300-$1700.(500 pounds or so)

This kind of bike rarely holds its value well because the cheap components on it deteriorate very quickly. A 100 pound bike would usually be crap. either a well worn very very old bike, or a newer fundamentally floored bike that would last you only five minutes.

I would invest the 500 pounds initially, this will buy you bike, pedals with cleats, of a entry level standard. Helmet, shoes, and clothing would add more, and would depend on what you want.

If you try second hand be prepared to spend alittle more, maybe 300pounds, perhaps you might get lucky and get a bargain, they are out there!!

Good Luck
