Dear W, The peg keeps an over-shifted chain from falling all the way down off the big sprocket, just as a chainwatcher keeps an over-shifted chain from falling all the way down off the small sprocket. That way, you can get the chain back on the sprocket without having to stop and fuss. Cheers, Carl Fogel |
