Does that mean then that Marin has low-end models of bikes, or they
are not a good brand to begin with? It is in this Sunday's circular: '08 Kentfield 21-speed comfort bike $349.99 |

I'd stay away from it only if you're plus sized due to the suspension fork and single wall rims having their limitations. The Muirwoods for $450 list is a little more robust with 26" wheels and no bouncy bits and for a little over $500 you get the Belvedere with double wall 700c rims and color matched fenders and a roadie drivetrain with a more aggressive ergonomiics. |

The Kentfield doesn't have a suspension fork, but it does have a suspension seatpost. That's a good entry level bike. No weird bits. Normal accessories bolt right on. If things break, they're stupidly cheap to replace. |
