Anyone have tips to save some cash? I dont own a bike case. But I hear you can use a hockey bag??

Depends on how much you value your bike or the value OF your bike, get a old box from a dealer at least, a case is not that much to invest if you travel very much. Don't forget spacers for front and rear as this is a easy place for things to get "squashed".

For 10$ I had my LBS put my bike in a box with the spacers and everything to protect it. The bike had no scratch when I took it out of the box, I never could have done a better job!
