Default What type of shoe/boot for platforms?

I've changed over from my Egg Beaters to platforms & I'm trying to figure out what type shoe/boot would best fit my needs/wants and just curious as to what any others might wear.
I just mainly trail ride but with a kinda BMX appareal/look.
There is no local bike shop that carries MTB shoes & I'm not crazy about ordering a pair over the internet due to the possiblity of getting a wrong size. So I did buy a pair of Skechers Sports that I think might possibly work, if they'll hold up to the mud & moisture from the trails.
Any suggestion or advise will be appreciated.
Derrick
