Default Remove bottom bracket (splines broken)

In trying to replace the original bottom bracket on my raleigh bike i managed to break/mangle the splines on the non-drive (left) side. The right side is still ok but i was under the impression that the left cup should come out first.

Does any one have any suggestions on how i might proceed to get my bb off?

The order you take them off doesn't matter.
The direction you turn them does matter, of course.
There is a great set of instructions, including pictures, at the Park Tool Website at URL:

You might be able to save things by going to the right side and getting everything else out. You might be able to remove the left side by "breaking it" while still saving the frame's BB threads.
