Its that time of year, 2 rounds of the 'Classics' game are left, it is now time for the World Championships Road Race. From what I hear about the course, it sounds difficult with just over 4 KM of climbing X 21 laps. So you have to eliminate most of the 'pure' sprinter types (like cipo, even if he isn't racing !). Honestly, my money is on Paolo Bettini (ITA) because he is simply the best all-round rider in the world at the moment. Franco Ballerini has the Italian team under control for the 2nd time in history, many Italians are on form, but Bettini's only fault is that everyone (!) will be marking him every second of the race. There are many riders on excellent form right now from many nations, best bets are on an Italian rider. But don't rule out Oscar Freire, this man has a special place in his heart for the Worlds RR and knows how to win when the chips are down. I will let you decide the rest. Good luck, choose wisely.
