I'm a huge fan of OLN's Tour and classic road covera from the early spring to late summer. But why don't they show any of the winter track events? I'd love to see some 6-day racing coverage. It also seems like it would make for a good broadcast and even non-cyclists would get a kick out of watching dudes on bikes with no breaks bumping and slinging team-mates in and and out of the race.

You are still very lucky. Here in the good old RSA we do not get any cycling coverage (except if you have M-Net) and they only cover the TDF and a 1 hour show every week/bi-weekly?
But I agree totally with you. We have events such as the Argus where 35 000 cyclists entered in 4 days. I would think that it must be a clear indication to the local SABC channels that there is a market. Now and again (more again ) we get some track racing and yes..it is extremely exciting. Even my wife who does not cycle likes to watch it.
