Encino Velodrome (250M Cement) http://www.encinovelodrome.org/ if you live near Los Angeles, and San Diego Velodrome (333M cement covered with synthetic)http://www.sdvelodrome.com/ if you live further south near San Diego.

Don't forget that LA is building the new ADT Home Depot sponsored velodrome. It will be the center for US track training and racing. I'm moving to so cal for that reason... and the perfect weather every day of the year

There was a meeting with local race clubs recently and it is on schedule to be opened in March so that they can get it ready for the World Junior Track Championships in June/July.
Local clubs are being encouraged to assist with the hosting of large events. There will also be access for training and racing for club level riders! I think that once it is open and running they will begin to offer the begginners track development classes again. It's a 250m, 41 degree wood surface track. |

WOW, now THAT'S awesome. I live in NoCal but am moving back to So Cal in a year or two. Finally, an indoor wood track, and with some nice banking!
I sure hope this helps spur some interest in track. In San Jose, it's just pathetic -- maybe 30 riders total on a busy Friday night, and not more than 50 in the stands watching. I don't get it. |
