I have a 2001 Tsali Litespeed. It has a Rockshox Sid Rear
shock. Has anyone replaced one before. What information do I need, anything special? Also, are there any other types of shocks I could replace the Rockshox Sid with? Thanks, Hohobike. |

You can't just replace the rear shock of a Litespeed softail such as the Tsali. That SID is specifically designed for that frame. Keep in mind the Tsali is a softail with 1 inch of travel. The shocks stroke is of less than an inch. Nobody makes shocks that short and the mounting system is a specific design. Changing shock on such a bike will not benefit it in anyway since its just there to take the edge out of a hardtail ride. It does not perform like a full suspension bike. I used to own a Litespeed Unicoi which is the same thing but with lighter less beefy tubing. If you want to replace it for a newer SID you will have to contact litespeed so they can get you the right one.

FS...quasi FS....softtail...whatever....I have NEVER had a problem replacing parts on a hardtail. I just love planned obsolescence.

The Cane Creek AD12 is compatable with your frame and it is a good shock. It can be rebuilt by you and does not cost too much. If your SID is working I would not change it though.
