The hardest thing when touring is to identify the best roads to travel on with the most interesting terrain. Since I got my GPS I've began storing all my favourite routes, with the intention of assisting visiting cyclists who travel over to Scotland. Scotland has fantastic road cycling conditions, with challenging ascents and quiet country roads.. but they're not always easy to find!
I'm hoping this thread will encourage people to contribute routes of waypoints on roads, or designated mbiking trails. Please dont send routes across terrain which will annoy local people - sticking to roads or proper trails is more helpful. To start things off (until I get a number of road routes stored) here is a link to the Stirling Bike Club in Scotland. All the links with "Tracklogs" have Garmin GPS waypoints against them. http://www.stirlingbikeclub.org.uk/...yde/index.shtml For my own interest, I'm curious about routes in Wales, Northern Ireland, and winter training camp routes in Spain.. can anyone assist? Cheers, Scott |
