For sprinters I wonder how much correlation there is between gym strenght, leg speed and personal best times.
If you've done a 200m tt (or kilo), please answer the following qustions: What's your best 200m tt (or kilo)? WHat gear were you riding? How much can you squat in the gym? How deep was that? Roughly what percentage of your training time is dedicated to endurance work? Last edited by Budarz : 09-12.-2003 at 03:34 AM. |

i have done a 11.9(200m) on a 400m track and a 1.11.3 (kilo) on a 250m track. I definitely rode 92.6 (48x14) for the 200, and i think it was the same for the kilo (ie. 92.6).
I dont do any weights at all, but spend most of my time doing endurance work on the road, with 2 short track sessions per week. Maybe 70-80% endurance based, depending on training phase. |

200m = 10.9 outdoors on a 400m, 92.6 from memory I squat roughly 280 - 300kg when I'm in form (about 220 at the moment : ( ) I squat 3/4 depth (same as riding extension) I would do maybe 300km a week in the summer and 5 - 600 in the off season. (I would qualify that by saying that these K's are done very quietly so not really endurance work) |
