Lets see we had about 3” at most of snow on new years day. By evening the temp is about 36 degrees or so. Friday roads are clear and the temp in the morning 38 degrees. The local bus service has these shuttles for handicapped persons. They were all canceled because of bad weather (of course then never told my wife). Ok a bus can not drive but I can get across town on my road bicycle without any problems?
We have been getting these snow advisories since Saturday warning of snow and ice Saturday and Sunday and Monday. But guess what no snow so far. And today the roads are fully dry. Yes it is 24 or so today but no ice. School is closed tomorrow. Already it is on the new channel website. Hello someone open the door and look outside. I bet the shuttles are all canceled tomorrow too. This is getting pathetic. I will ride my bike to work but a bus can’t drive on dry roads with 20+ temps and no moisture. You should have seen the people flocking to the grocery store it was pathetic. Wonder how many people starve in the middle of a city if it has one or two bad days of weather? |

Did you go to work today, I at work now. But my little Metro went along very well. But being a Northern Montana girl we drove in snow for 2 to 3 months year. I even saw one cop car stuck in a drift on Halsey. Thank God for rollers there safer to ride, then riding on the streets with the Portland low lander's in this weather. |

Come on! A 20 min. ride in 24 F weather isn't that bad. It only hurts for 15 min. and then the red legs and face go away
. Seriously though, I commuted to work yesterday morning in 18 F, and in 22 F weather w/ light flurries this a.m. Of course we have a dry cold (relative to Portland, OR), but it's still f*@#-ing cold.
