Hi,

Anyone done the gran fondo campagnolo? I am interested in doing it and would like to know how difficult the climbs are.

Luke,
I have done 2 Gran Fondo Campagnolo ride/Races and going again this year to the 10th running of the Event.
Now im not a climber and I did just fine both times I have done them. I have done the middle route and the short route so far. the middle has a tough middle climb that has 13 percent near the top and then some dirt but its a lot of fun.
The first climb of the day and of all 3 routes is just long and you never think you will get to the top.
Go and have fun its a blast and you will have fun on the ride.
Im getting there on the 8th and also going to do the Gran Fondo d'Europa the weekend before had but if you dont want to do that go to Feltre and watch the 24 hour race its great fun to see.
Let me know if you need more info.
Ciao,
Mitch

Hi Luke,
I've done 6 etapes (one with gold time-Mt Ventoux!) + Paris-Roubaix and I think the full GF Campag is the hardest ride I have done. The second climb endin with 20% gradient for 5K is v hard and at this stage you are not even halfway round!
The medium is a great ride and leaves you with enough energy afterwards to enjoy the rest of the day!
Roy (P.S. I am 52 - perhaps it's not so hard for the yougsters)
