Cancellara finally bested in a TT, guess the hill held him back a bit or maybe he can't use his gruber assist anymore now the UCI are on to him :p

Also, I think F. Schleck has broken into whatever dope store Contador used to get good at time trialling because apparently he's good against the clock now as well. Gesink totally blew up in that TT but for Schleck to get within a few seconds of Armstrong? Come off it...

You'll have to do better than that in a "circumstantial" case of F Schleck doping (like, say, pointing out a nondescript amateur morphed into a STRONG 2nd-tier pro).

Schleck just lucked out...rode an solid TT, backed into the win.

How about the fact F. Schleck is an Operation Puerto alumni? So yeah... he dopes.

There's a doping sub-forum, so take you're doping suggestions there. You're offering nothing substantial to this thread.

It's beautiful that the moderators can't be bothered to moderate the doping talk and spray outside of the doping sub-forum. Of course, since the doping spray aligns with the religions of the mods, you can't expect them to moderate something so dear to their hearts.

Great TT ride today.

Yeah, one of the more exciting TTs I've seen in a while, with some huge leaps and falls in the overall classification. In particular Fuglsang moving from 9th to 3rd and LA from 7th to 2nd. Gesink had a terrible day especially after riding so well up until this TT. Going from 1st to 5th in the GC... Ouch. Great win for Martin today. To beat FC in a TT, in Switzerland, is pretty impressive.

I think the stage profile favored F.Schleck more than Lance.

Frank lost over one minute to Fabian Cancellara. A typical GT TT is twice the length of this and generally flat, so Frank loosing 2-3 minutes in one is realistic.

I'm happy with climbers loosing several minutes in time trials, it makes for better racing. I wasn't very impressed with Contador beating Cancellara by 3 seconds in a Tour de France TT last year.

I for one haven't been around on the forum this weekend since I had my a** on a bike saddle a good part of it but will always take the time to consider a reported post. Of course this particular type pops up all over the forum and I usually don't attempt to intervene unless it turns into a pissing contest. One random post is easy to ignore.
As far as the mods I suspect we vary in perspective, philosophy and backgrounds considerably.
That being said I do not like unsubstantiated accusations about doping or anything else.Opinions and theories should be stated as such and not fact.

It's almost time for the big one! Almost all the pre work is completed and the hay is in the barn so to speak. Just a little fine tuning and it will be an all go for 7-3-10 and TDF. I can't wait for the horn to sound and let this puppy go. It looks like several riders have a chance to challenge Contador for the GC. I still think he is going to win but he will have some competition this year, Michael Rodgers, Tony Martin, the Schlecks, and of course LA. LA has had a good pre TDF season with the exception of the crash in Cali. he has been very effective. I still don't think he has that little extra spark he had when he was in his early 30's when it comes to climbing and TT but he is still pretty darn good. He has a 3rd and 2nd and with a little good fortune could have a 1st in the granddaddy of them all the TDF (snowman)WOW! Do you believe in miracles like the 1980 USA hockey team!!!!!! Let's all get behind our true USA contender LA and root for a race for the ages and see the ole boy bring it home one more time for the red white and blue. Try and put all your petty remarks behind you and climb on board the Lance Train one more time, don't flame me or be a hater lets pull together for a change. We need something good to rally our spirits in this time when everything seems so bad all the time (oil spill, Iraq, Middle east mess, and everything else). Seriously, lets pull for this one!!!!!!!!

Jeez, did anyone catch LA's second half split time. If he went from 23rd to 11th overall it had to be incredible and just from appearances he was all over that bike in the second half, old LA style. He has been going out to slow in the TT's I have seen since his break and then dropping the hammer at the half way point.

In addition their was a whole slew of riders finishing 1hr+ and a few 1:30+. How can you call yourself a pro cyclist with those times. Some one please explain why so many and finishing twice if not three times longer than Martin? That is less than 11 miles and hour!!!!

An hour and a half is not a ridiculous time gap over a nine stage race when you are racing with the top racers in the world.I must be missing the point and I am looking at about 22-23 mph by my rough estimate.

Best time-35:02:00
Worst time- 36:32:28

armstrong's 2nd half jump wasn't really all that remarkable. spartacus, i believe, set the time over the first half of the course and then saw his second half time bettered. quite a few of the riders made better goes on the 2nd half of the course than the first. armstrong's move up to second was correctly attributed by the talking magpies, sherwen and liggett, to the fact that those ahead of him were mountain specialists. armstrong being the better gc rider should have beaten them. what should be noted here is that armstrong finished well down on this stage in a discipline he used to win. still a strong performance, but put against his deeds of the past, he should have handled f. schleck without breaking a sweat.

JHuskey your not missing anything. I am scrolled to fast through the results an hit the GC times. My bad disregard.

Gotta rewatch for the splits but to jump 12 spots on the second half he must have been flying.

That's the sweet thing about a TT, if you go late you can reach a little deeper if you got the legs and gain some time over those that go early.
Of course the wind might change in your disfavor or it could start raining.

Did a little manual recon thanks to Tivo

LA second half split was 17 seconds slower than Tony Martin, 8 seconds slower than Cancellara and 10 secs faster than Zabriske so he definitely has the ability to redline for 16 mins but maybe cant hold it for 33mins.

Cant figure why LA went out that slow on a 33min TT. Almost a minute down on the first half. Only so much you can do in the second half.

Anyway with only one TT not sure he is going to be putting a lot of time into it. He needs to have 30secs at the TT if so I believe he can find it to hang on.

Question is where is going to get the 30secs. Back up the Radio Shack bus over AC!
